Prior to our founder, Marilyn Newman, first shaping the structure of Hypnotherapy Training Australia in 2009, there were many, many years of revitalising and meaningful practice.
Marilyn had a clear vision, and that was to provide heartfelt and positive, transformational pathways to the world with Clinical Hypnotic Science being the base foundation. In the duration of her career as a Professional Hypnotherapist, Marilyn’s astounding sensitivity and her wisdom and passion for her craft, lead her to transcend traditional practice to then go onto forming her own one-of-a-kind, empirical practice.
After Marilyn’s passing, her daughter Kaz Field Anderson, made the decision to carry the flame. Already an experienced Hypnotherapist of over 30 years, under her Mothers’ counsel, Kaz took up the mantle of Director of Training at HTA.
Kaz has been described as a strong and powerful woman with a kind heart and gentle soul. In the early nineties, as a Mother of two small children, she was diagnosed with terminal cancer and asked by her clinician to get her affairs in order. For Kaz, her love for her children and indefatigable will made death not an option.
In the face of her clinicians advice that medical intervention would make no difference, Kaz took control of the process and insisted on surgery under hypnosis and without anesthetic. After the surgery, Kaz vigorously dedicated herself to a plant based diet, daily hypnosis and psychotherapy.
Only three months later there was no sign of the cancer!
This success combined with her Mothers’ legacy, gave Kaz an invigorated sense of purpose which has ultimately been realised in her role as Director of Training at Hypnotherapy Training Australia.
Not resting on that and as Marilyn wished, Kaz has taken HTA to the next level by offering her own insights into Heart Based Trauma Training for PTSD, Anxiety, Depression and Resource Therapy.
Kaz has recently been elected as Secretary General to the Hypnotherapy Council of Australia (HCA), which her late Mother was a Founding Member of.
Kaz’ Initiative is…
“…to allow the ‘broken part’ to be nurtured and receive support. Allow it to take a rest from holding the lead role in being conscious. Allow it to bring a stronger, more confident and capable self into momentary awareness. Allow it to embrace its capacity to steer the ship as a valid contributor and anchor it in for the easiest assimilation by the psyche.”
